How to get more (and better) voices, free

1. Open the Settings app on your iPhone.
2. Tap Accessibility, then Spoken Content, then Voices.
3. Tap English. Tap a voice, then tap the download (cloud) icon. Get as many as you want, especially Enhanced or Premium ones. Try UK, Australian, Irish and Indian English for variety.
4. Come back, close this page completely and reopen it. The new voices show up in each character’s voice list.
5. Use Voice style on each character (Deep, High, Kid-like…) so everyone sounds different.

How to record

1. Turn your ringer ON (silent mode mutes sounds) and turn the volume up.
2. Open Control Center and start Screen Recording (don’t use the mic).
3. Tap Play. A short countdown gives you time to swipe back. Controls fade away on their own; tap the screen to bring them back.
